NEW FACTORY INVESTMENT FROM ULUSOY UN IN THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE

Ulusoy Un, Turkey's leading flour producer and exporter, continues its investments. Ulusoy Un, which made a big impact with Söke, which it acquired in 2022, purchased a new flour factory in Hatay Antakya Organized Industrial Zone. Thus, while the number of factories within Ulusoy Un increased to 5, the total production capacity reached 4,200 tons/day from 3,925 tons/day. With the commissioning of the facility, it is aimed to contribute to the economic development and employment of the earthquake region.
Ulusoy Un, which acquired Söke in 2022 and closed the year with a sales revenue of 20.4 billion TL, invested in a new factory in the earthquake zone. Ulusoy Un built its flour factory on 5,095 square meters of land with a crushing capacity of 275 tons/day, registered in Hatay Province Belen District Şenbük District, 113 Island, 3 Plot, located in Hatay Antakya Organized Industrial Zone, with a total price of 14,350,000 Turkish Liras, registered in 113 Island, 4 Plot. The storage area on 5,091 square meters of land was purchased for a total price of 5,000,000 Turkish Liras. The facility, which has a closed area of 6,880 square meters on a total area of 10,186 square meters, is currently inactive. A Quick Structural Health Monitoring (QSHM) report was received to determine whether it was damaged in the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş, and all the structures in the real estate in question were examined and found to be completely undamaged. After the revision works for capacity increase and technology renewal, the facility is planned to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2023. With the commissioning of the facility, it is aimed to increase employment and contribute to economic development in the region affected by the earthquake disaster. Making a statement on the subject, Ulusoy Un Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Eren Günhan Ulusoy said, “Ulusoy Un is a company that exports to 92 countries today and serves the food safety of not only Turkey but also the world. Our company continues to grow with its new breakthroughs. A total of 2485 tons/day, 2085 tons/day in Samsun and 400 tons/day in Çorlu, and Söke Değirmencilik San ve Tic. Inc. As a result of the acquisition of its shares and the addition of the 1440 tons/day capacity of our company's Aydın and Ankara Factories, our total production capacity reached 3,925 tons/day. With the new acquisition, our total production capacity will reach 4,200 tons/day and we will continue to maintain our position as Turkey's largest flour producer by far. With this purchase, we aim to achieve an increase in our export tonnage by using the ports in the Mersin, Adana and Iskenderun regions to supply raw materials, with a cost advantage and proximity to our country's southern neighbors. With the facility starting production, our company will have the opportunity to access the domestic market in the southern and southeastern regions of our country with more cost-effective transportation. In this way, we will reach the active production capacity that will expand sales to all regions of Turkey, with our factories located in 5 different regions within our company.”
Ulusoy Un, which consolidated its place in the research of Turkey's largest companies for 2021, became Turkey's 323rd largest exporter according to the TİM1000 list, 71st according to the Fortune 500 list and Turkey's 86th largest company according to the Capital500 research. Ulusoy Un was last ranked 28th in the "Biggest 500 Companies of Anatolia" research conducted by Ekonomist magazine. Ulusoy Un, one of Turkey's largest food companies, also has the innovation leader award of the food industry within the scope of the "Platinum Global 100 Index".
